DSA Registered Instructor Training

Teesside Transport Training offers 10-day LGV instructor training courses for delegates wishing to become DSA Approved LGV Driving Instructors.

Delegate Eligibility

You must have held a full, unrestricted driving licence for at least 3 years in the category in which you wish to instruct or accompany a trainee, and be aged over 21. You must not have been disqualified from driving at any time in the previous 4 years prior to entering the register.

You must be a fit and proper person to have your name entered in the register. All convictions, including motoring offences, still in force (i.e not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974) will be taken into account when you initial application is received.

How to Apply

Anyone wishing to join the Register will need to obtain a starter pack containing the application form, notes for guidance and the theory test question bank. This should be requested in writing and accompanied by a payment of £6.99 from the DSA Registration Section. (LGV Registration Section, DSA, 56 Talbot Street, Nottingham, NG1 5GU.)

Course Duration

The course is 10 days in duration and consists of both theoretical and practical training.

£2,300.00 + VAT per delegate + DSA registration and examination fees. Registration forms are available from the DSA.
